PROGRAMME: IMPROVEMENT OF LIVING CONDITIONS
The heavy rains which fell during the first months of this year on the mountain slopes of our area, caused big damage in many sheds, huts and simple houses where the 200 women live,( if one can use this term) who integrate the food program “Women in dire need”.
A group of employees of our foundation FISDECO carried out home visits to all involved. The results of these visits were: 50 family units needed the construction or improvement of their bathrooms.
Fortunately the parishioners of a community let themselves be motivated to help their less favoured brothers and sisters. They donated in cash or kind the building material, the tiles, the apparatus and the shower heads The receiving families organized in common the transport and the building cost. The employees of FISDECO spend many hours walking up and down the slopes to advise, accompany and supervise this project which advances very well.
