EXISTING PROGRAMMES

PRESCHOOL EDUCATION:

  • Two children’s day centres (480 children below the age of 5).

  • The children receive full meals, are under medical care and are well educated pedagogically.

FORMAL EDUCATION:

A primary school (321 pupils) which continues the education of the day centres.

PREVENTION OF YOUTH GANGS AND DRUGADDICTION  - COMPLEMENTARY EDUCATION

Seven Open door centres: supervision of home work, recreation, good use of free time, sports. During the year 2007 a total of 17.584 children and youth made use of these opportunities. We offered 97.954 services

PHILHARMONIC CHILDREN’S / YOUTH ORCHESTRA

It gives an answer to the difficult situation of our children and youth, it offers an alternative to violence and the culture of death, because it humanizes and dignifies life. “in the open grounds of suffering, the good begins to sprout” (National anthem) – music instead of violence!.

INFORMAL EDUCATION FOR ADULTS

Family Training centre. Training for girls and women: home crafts, 120 participants. “The one who educates a woman founds a small school”.

Programmes for mothers and children in vulnerable conditions, 200 mothers, (approximately 600 children) who are alone responsible for their children (dire economic conditions, displaced, premature pregnancies) training for life, supply of basic food.

HEALTH PROGRAMMES

A medical centre, which gives basic care. The main thrust lies on preventative medicine. In the year 2007 we attended:

Programs:

  • General medicine

  • Dental care

  • Ophthalmology

  • Clinical laboratory

  • X –rays

  • Respiratory therapy

  • Vaccination

  • Child control.

CARE OF THE  AGED

  • An old age people’s home caters for 25 interns and 7 externs. Another 327 elders are organised in 12 groups for their weekly meetings.

EMPLOYEES

Our Foundation counts at present with 109 employees. Except for the medical doctors, all live in our area.
